Tickets to the hanging grass ornaments at Kolonien, Copenhagen, November 7 2025
The class
During an afternoon we meet up at the calm sanctuary that is Kolonien - a little piece of heaven right in Copenhagen. Sat in the glass yurt around a fire we will craft geometrical ornaments from the grass and reeds that grow wild on and around the old pier where Kolonien is located. These prism-like objects can be connected in many different ways, or hang on their own - either way they will be beautiful additions to your home decoration as they slowly turn around, moving in the small drafts of everyday life.
The class will be taught in Swedish/English/I might even try some Danish. We’ll make do!
Bring, if you have it:
Scissors (Rough, we’ll cut plant materials with them)
Or secateurs
A paper bag with a flat bottom to carry your items home in, so they don’t get squashed
The venue
Kolonien is a wonderful microcosmos located on a pier in Copenhagen. In a pocket of stillness amid the urban sprawl we find a grassy field where the architect Jane Ostermann-Petersen showcases her work consisting of transitional dwellings whose base elements are glass with steel constructions and sliding panels that can be added for insulation. Read more about Jane’s work here!
