In my 6’th book I explore the concept of traditional holiday decorations from Sweden and beyond. It holds around 30 projects in step-by step format such as making candles and making gingerbread houses for Christmas, painting eggs and making paper birds to decorate with for Easter, plaiting flower crowns for midsummer, paper lanterns and funny hats for autumnal crayfish parties and making scary incantations and face masks (yes and of course, carving pumpkins) for Halloween.
This book started as a documentation of my own practices around holiday decorating and my thoughts on what tradition and culture is, what it takes to start a new tradition and what these simple decorations mean to me on a personal level. It turned out that a box of easter decorations can be an archive of past years, anchoring me in the story of how I became myself, and that you really only need one person to uphold a tradition for it to exist: you.
The book has 145 pages and a hard cover.
