I’ve taken a step away from my preferred blue tones with this heddle set and I don’t regret it! This is a shape I’ve made a couple of times but it’s the first time I’ve made then with a pointed bottom. I just feel like that completes the composition very well… Also, my idea is that these would look very nice hanging on a wall. They really feel like tokens to me, like in the bathhouse scene in the studio Ghibli film Spirited away where Sen sends the orders for the bath ingredients by picking out different wooden tokens. If you haven’t seen the movie I recommend it. Anyway, I know those tokens don’t exactly look like these heddles, but in my mind they do. Also they would look great worn on a string fastened to a belt as a part of a folkloristic outfit… a weaving tool but also an amulet.

In the end, they can be whatever you want them to be, but I liked the shape and hope you will too.

The heddles are made out of birch wood and painted with a linseed oil paint. They all have my name glyph carved at the bottom of one side, which I think of as the back side, but they are really identical in the front and back except for the glyph.
