Heddle release: November 3, 2025

New heddles are about to hit the webshop! They are a variation on some earlier themes, with fanned weaving segments and little half circles on top depicting houses, stars and the setting sun. The setting sun is a motif I usually feel drawn to during the summer and that’s when I started to make this set but as autumn progressed and darkness har started to set in I thought of houses and stars, and in the end, it turned out to be a set on the theme of seasonal changes.
There are 19 heddles going up for sale in the webshop on November 3, 21.00 Swedish time. Scroll down to the bottom of this blog post to see them in full view with measurements and prices.

A note on shipping to the USA:

First time release: Distaffs!

Last winter I started making distaffs, which is basically a stick ment to stash your wool on while spinning, and I’m finally ready to sell two of them! They are made of birch and painted with the same kind of paints that I use for the heddles (see below). There’s one longer one and one shorter and I must say it was delightful making these. They are marked with my maker’s mark on the backside of the handle and the backsides are left undecorated, Tap the images below to enlarge them!

The distaffs will be published for sale at the same time as the heddles. Due to their size I will have to ship them in tubes, and because of this they cannot be co-shipped with other items.

Back to the heddles!

These heddles are made out of dry birch wood, locally sourced from a friend and processed by me from tree trunk to weaving tool. They are painted with linseed oil, I use paint made for art and then dilute it with a little more oil to make it viscous. For the gold details I used a type of paint used by frame makers to paint picture frames.

All heddles in the gallery below have their measurements stated but in case numbers seem abstract, here’s my hand with a bunch of heddles from the set, from the smallest to the largest.

This set consists of 19 heddles that will be released on November 3, 21.00 Swedish time. The heddles will be for sale in the webshop, not here on the blog. This is a preview for you guys, so you can have a look at the heddles before they hit the web shop. Click or tap the images to enhance them and see the heddle measurements! If you are buying heddles from me for the first time you might want to read this blog post in preparation.

Ps. When browsing this blog post on a mobile device the text with the measurement + price info does not appear automatically when you tap a picture to enhance it. After enhancing the picture, look at the bottom right hand corner of the screen where there is a small white dot. Tap that and the info will appear!
